Volleyball: Lady Trojans building on season’s lessons

Though the Troy High School volleyball team still have their eyes on where they are going.

Troy Head Coach Jordan Graves said the team was focused on fundamentals when the season started.

“So, just passing — the fundamentals of passing and serving — we struggled with at the beginning of the year,” she said.

While the team has been working on more complex aspects for some time, Graves said they now have enough of the fundamentals that they can build on them.

Graves said they are working on things such as setting to the back row and serving to specific areas of the court.

“We’re past the inexperience side of things, and working on a little more complex things as well, which is really nice to be able to do that,” she said. “And they’re getting in a rhythm and working together better as a team.”

The Lady Trojans host Stillwater tonight at the Troy Activity Center, with the junior varsity match scheduled to start at 4 p.m. They play at home again on Saturday, when they will host Thompson Falls starting at 1 p.m.
