Siver Jerome Rockstad passed away on July 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on April 26, 1952, to Selmer and Ruth Rockstad. He was raised near the Puyallup River, where he spent his childhood, graduating from Puyallup High in 1971
After graduation, he was drafted into the Army where he spent two years in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Siver worked for 30 years at Kaiser Aluminum, retiring in 2001. Upon retiring he moved to Libby where he worked for the environmental clean-up.
Siver was an avid fisherman, spending many hours fishing on the Kootenai River. He also enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, camping, playing cards and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his partner in life Darci Launderville, sons John and Jeromy, sisters Kathy Al Shememery and Shirley Berteaux, aunts Edith Stover and Rocky Biddle, uncles Glen Neimi and Byron Rockstad, several nieces and nephews and cousins and longtime friends Steve and Judy Spandel.
A reception to honor andcelebrate Siver’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in Libby at the Fred Brown Pavilion followed by luncheon at the Mint Bar.
