Troy Public Schools are grateful for annual $500 grant they received from an Idaho service station.
“These funds that we get each year from the Three Mile Gas Station in Bonners Ferry are used for science and math,” Superintendent Jacob Francom said via email. “We purchase materials that we otherwise would not be able to purchase.”
According to a news release, the grant is sourced by Exxon Mobil’s Educational Alliance program to “focus on improvements in math and science from pre-school to higher education.”
“We believe it is fundamentally important to encourage the next generation to pursue studies and careers involved in these fields, the news release states.
Francom wrote that the schools would “be purchasing materials for our lab and for field trips to expose students to increase student engagement and interest.”
