CROSS COUNTRY: Libby girls place 38th, boys 52nd at the Mountain West Classic

Bigfork senior Bryn Morley ran her best time this season to finish in third place at the Mountain West Classic on Saturday at the University of Montana Golf Course.

Morley finished in 18 minutes, 10.80 seconds to lead the second pack at the biggest cross country race of the regular season. Defending Class AA champion Tiahna Vladic of Billings Senior won the meet by three seconds in 17:44.60, beating Bozeman senior Camilla Noe, who finished in 17:47.60.

Glacier senior Annie Hill finished fifth in 18:30.80, pacing a third pack across the line. Polsonís Bea Frissell finished eighth in 18:49.60.

The Flathead girls finished sixth as a team, were led by senior Kaitlin Wride in 18th in 19:25.40. Glacier finished ninth, Polson 12th, Columbia Falls 24th, Eureka 36th and Libby 38th.

Flathead junior Ben Perrin finished in 12th place in the boys race in 16:17.30 and the Braves were eighth as a team. Glacier finished seventh, led by junior Aren Alexander-Battee in 26th.

Great Falls C.M. Russellís Cooper West ran a personal-best 15:30.40 to win the race, topping Bozemanís Duncan Hamilton, who finished in 15:33.80.

Spokane Lewis and Clark topped Bozeman for the boys team title. Columbia Falls finished 22nd, Polson 38th, Whitefish 42nd, Eureka 44th and Libby 52nd.
