Four generations of the Akin family recently visited the Heritage Museum to see the World War I exhibit that was added this year in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entry into war. Ralph Akin of Troy was a member of the 20th Engineers regiment who assisted French foresters with logging, lumber manufacturing, railroad tie production and more during the war. The exhibit includes his photos and correspondence.
