A double home game weekend saw Trojan volleyball dominated by Deer Lodge on Friday and make a comeback in Saturday’s game against Anaconda.

Despite Friday’s game’s solid effort from Aurora Becquart with eight of the team’s 14 kills and three of the six blocks, and Annie Day’s 12 assists, Deer Lodge won with a 25-12, 25-19, 25-8 victory over the Trojans.

By Saturday, the girls were warmed up and took Anaconda by 26-24, 25-18 and 25-19, with some extremely close moments.

Becquart led in kills and blocks, while Day again achieved 11 assists.

In her second year, Allie Coldwell got in five digs. After the game she said, “Aurora played a good game today. I think we started off slow and really got into it.”

Coach Mandy Love was pleased to see a win for the third game of the season — the first being a loss to Bonners Ferry — and said of Saturday’s game: “there were moments when they had a really good flow and good rally.”

Friday Kills — Deer Lodge 31 (Kerstin Cooper 10), Troy 14 (Aurora Becquart 8); Blocks — Deer Lodge 3 (Sophia Carton 2), Troy 6 (Becquart 3); Digs — Deer Lodge NA, Troy 11 (Allie Coldwell 4, Becquart 4); Assists — Deer Lodge 22 (Kamryn Scully 16), Troy 14 (Annie Day 12); Aces — Deer Lodge 12 (Darcy Walker 5), Troy 2 (Becquart 1, Mazzy Hermes 1).
