A Libby woman has been charged with assaulting her mother and neighbor.

Shayna Lou Olsen, 24, is being held on $10,000 bond for assault and a first offense of partner or family member assault, causing bodily injury. The charges have a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and 12 months in jail.

Sheriff’s Deputy John Hyslop arrested Olsen Feb. 10 in Libby.

Olsen’s father, David, called 911 at 10:50 p.m. reporting that Olsen had left the house drunk, belligerent and with no shoes on her feet, according to court documents.

Olsen’s mother, Kim, told 911 at 11:04 p.m. that “my daughter is freaking out”. Olsen had reportedly arrived at the neighbor’s house and gotten into the mother’s car. The neighbor, Rebecca Schikora, and the mother approached the car and Olsen allegedly began screaming and kicking the windows.

In the process of getting Olsen out of the car, Olsen allegedly hit and scratched her mother and Schikora.

The mother’s face and arm were scratched and she was bleeding, according to Deputy Brent Faulkner. Chunks of her hair were coming off her head. The mother said that Olsen had kicked her, punched her and pulled her hair.

Schikora had a scratch on her hand and her left eye was red. She said that Olsen punched her in the eye.

When the deputies arrived, the father was holding Olsen on the ground as she cursed and struggled.

Olsen is set to appear before Judge Jay Sheffield at an omnibus hearing April 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Justice Court. Jury trial is scheduled for June 7 at 9 a.m.
