Despite Ryggs Johnston scoring four three-pointers for the Loggers, Loyola ultimately took home the win on Friday in a close game of 53-60.

From the very beginning, the two teams were battling back and forth for a chance at the net. In the first quarter, Loyola outscored the Loggers 20-15, but the Loggers came back in the second quarter, with 11 points to Loyola’s 7.

Going into the second half with 26-27 on the scoreboard, the Loggers tried to keep up, but were outscored by their opposing team 19-20 and 13-8 in the final two quarters.

Johnston led the team with 20 points. Erik Lauer was not too far behind with 16 and Stephen Williams chipped in 8. Ryan Nagle tallied six and Gabe Peck scored three.
